Super excited to announce that the short film I wrote, directed, & starred in is finally finished!! It was a long process but so worth it because it turned out even more beautiful than I expected — from the shots to the coloring, the music, the acting...it really is a masterpiece (and maybe I'm slightly biased). I am so appreciative to all the cast, crew, and amazingly talented individuals who dedicated so much time and effort into bringing these characters and their "world" to life.
So what's next for this short? Film festivals! I have to set a budget of how much I want to spend on entering this piece into the festivals — because unfortunately, like Ed Sheeran said, "The worst things in life come free to us."
I'm considering a crowd funding campaign to help out with that but I'm really not a fan of those. First of all, a lot of the time they don't work out. But mostly because I hate the thought of accepting anyone's money. Still looking into all of my options though.
Anyway, I'm excited to see how this film does in the festival circuit and I know it's a short, but I'm hoping to somehow get a distribution deal of some sort afterward — maybe even on Amazon Video or something? I know you can submit films on there. Overall, the main goal is to win at least one "Best Short Film" award at an "Academy accredited" festival that would make it eligible for the Oscars "Short Film" category. Super out there, I know. But this film has just as good of a chance as any and what's wrong with trying, right?
Stay tuned for more updates!
